Public landfills
OC Waste & Recycling identifies Olinda Alpha and Prima Deshecha as the county landfills open to the public. Facility pages control current hours, closures, and directions.
HHW centers
The county lists four household hazardous-waste collection centers for residents. Its program page says they normally operate Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but weather and holiday closures must be checked.
Current public fees
For July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, the county fee page lists $15 for autos, passenger minivans, and SUVs under 360 pounds of waste; $30 for pickups, utility vehicles, and cargo vans under 880 pounds; and $92.70 per ton above 880 pounds. A hard-to-handle surcharge may apply.
Restrictions
County landfill pages say hazardous waste is not accepted at the public landfill face. Use the HHW program or an appropriate commercial route instead.
Official 2026–27 public rates include vehicle minimums and per-ton charges. Loads containing hard-to-handle items over six feet are listed at $107.70 per ton above 880 pounds or an added $15 on the qualifying flat vehicle rate.
Before leaving home or the jobsite
- Select Olinda Alpha or Prima Deshecha and open that facility's page.
- Estimate waste weight and identify any item longer than six feet.
- Separate HHW and prohibited materials before leaving.
- Confirm hours, weather status, payment, vehicle, and safety requirements.
