LOCAL STARTING POINT

Begin with the exact city, unincorporated area, or county program for the service address. Then confirm the destination, material, load, eligibility, hours, and total price on the official page or by phone.

What the official sources say

Jurisdiction comes first

Los Angeles County contains many incorporated cities with their own haulers and rules. Check whether the property is in a city or unincorporated county before choosing a program.

HHW and e-waste

CleanLA publishes permanent collection-center and mobile-event options for residents. Its event guidance says many events operate Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; each listing controls.

Transport limit

CleanLA publishes a household transport limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip for HHW. Containers and individual programs can have additional limits.

Business exclusion

Resident SAFE centers and events do not accept business-generated hazardous waste. Contractors, property managers, and businesses need an approved commercial route.

PRICE CHECK

Countywide pricing is not reliable because public services, franchise haulers, transfer stations, landfills, and private recyclers use different schedules. Request the total price for the exact material, vehicle, and service address.

Before leaving home or the jobsite

  1. Confirm city versus unincorporated county jurisdiction.
  2. Check the assigned trash hauler's bulky and organics services.
  3. Use the current CleanLA event or SAFE-center page for HHW and e-waste.
  4. Bring any required proof of residency and keep material within transport limits.

How this page is verified

A nearby address may be across a city boundary and served by a different program. Location search is a starting point; the service address and official jurisdiction determine eligibility.

We reviewed the linked agency and program pages, recorded the date, and separated dated fees from general directory results. We did not personally visit every facility and we do not treat third-party ratings as proof of acceptance.

Rules can change at the gate

Emergency closures, capacity limits, residency, vehicle restrictions, unsafe loads, and material contamination can override normal guidance. Keep an official confirmation and a backup plan.
